ROLLOVER PROTECTIVE STRUCTURE INCENTIVE PROGRAM
INTRODUCTION
The Rollover Protective Structure (ROPS) Incentive Program was designed to help offset the cost of installation of factory retro-fitted and dealer installed rollover protective structures (ROPS) with seat belts on farm tractors owned by North Carolina Farm Bureau members. OBJECTIVES
North Carolina Farm Bureau Safety is committed to helping Farm Bureau members minimize the hazards of farming through education and proactive programs that assist members in creating safer farm operations. Through the Rollover Protective Structure Incentive Program, our Farm Bureau members are encouraged to equip older farm tractors with a rollover protective structure (ROPS) and seat belt that when properly used will help reduce injury and/or loss of life during a tractor overturn.
ELIGIBILITY
Current North Carolina Farm Bureau members are eligible to apply for this incentive to retro-fit their farm tractor with a factory built, dealer-installed ROPS and seat belt.
To be eligible for this incentive, a farm tractor must:
- be owned by a current Farm Bureau member;
- have available a factory retro-fitted rollover protective structure (ROPS) designed and fitted by a ROPS manufacturer for that tractor model and installed by an authorized dealer; and,
- have not had a ROPS at the time of the original purchase (farm tractors equipped with ROPS at the time of purchase are not eligible for this program).
For your safety, homemade ROPS are not eligible for this incentive.
INCENTIVE PROCESS
The Farm Bureau member may obtain a ROPS Incentive Application Form from their county Farm Bureau office. Completed applications must be submitted to NC Farm Bureau Safety. After the application form is received by NC Farm Bureau and if approved, a ROPS Certification Form will be mailed to the applicant.
After receiving the certification form, the member should have a dealer install the ROPS and seat belt.
The completed certification form and copies of paid receipts must be returned to NC Farm Bureau within 90 days of the date of application approval.
NC Farm Bureau will award the incentive based on the completed certification form received from the tractor owner.
This incentive is limited and North Carolina Farm Bureau may withdraw this offer at any time.
